Concrete Sand--also called "bedding sand" or "Pipe Sand"--is a coarse, aggregate sand composed of either granite, limestone, gneiss or trap rock, which gives it its strength.
The sand has been washed and screened to remove any large rocks. Its coarseness allows it to bond easily with water in the concrete-mixing process and to interlock well as a paver sand while still allowing for drainage.
